On Sunday night, we had dinner at our friends' house. Our friends with the sweet, beautiful twins that I just can't get enough of. And, R can't get enough of them either. Although his favorite is the little girl twin, M.
I'm really amazed by how sweet and loving R is with the babies. Yes, I would love for him to be a real big brother someday, but I'm leaving that in God's hands. For now, it's so nice to have our friends' babies to snuggle with and sing to and be silly for. The little boy twin, D, is the fussier of the babies, and it's fun for A and I to take turns trying to make him smile and to soothe him. A was very proud that he got little D to fall asleep on his shoulder.
Wow, I could just eat them up. They're so sweet it makes me weepy!

Sweetheart,
the babies are adorable. I think that the sight of a baby stirs the heart of every human being, or at least it ought to.
Being a big brother has many advantages and one big disadvantage. There is the advantage of being a hero to someone. There is the pleasure of showing someone new things and explaining things. There is the advantage of having someone to laugh and giggle with in the dark of the bedroom despite the cries of "Don't make me come up there!" emanating from the living room.
Then there is the disadvantage. THEY KEEP GETTING INTO YOUR STUFF! One piece of advise from Nils to Rix if he ever has a brother. Never go halfsies with your brother on a table saw or a car. You will never see either again! However, a brother is the one person you can count on when you get yourself into a fix. He will never judge or criticize you to your face, he will just be there for you when you need him. That bond never goes away, it just keeps on getting stronger,
all of my love, always, daddy
Thoese pics are so sweet! And yes some things are best left in God's hands :)
ARGH! I miss them so much! I'm glad I can enjoy them through you.
